Can I use the ® symbol in relation to my trade mark?

The ® symbol means that the trade mark is registered. It is an offence to use this symbol if your trade mark is not registered.

You can use the TM symbol for any trade mark whether it is registered or not.

While it is not mandatory to use the ® or TM symbol it is a good idea as it puts third parties on notice of your rights.
